The House of Skip-Kastrioti is the current royal house of The New Albania.It has reigned since 1912.
The House of Skip-Kastrioti has its roots on the 18th and 19th century from the Kastrioti Family.This family controlled the region around Debar at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. The most notable member was Skanderbeg, regarded as a national hero of The New Albania.
After the declaration of the Independence in 1912 King George Deron Skip Kastrioti which took the throne changed the name of the Royal Family to “The House of Skip-Kastrioti”. He was the first King of The New Albania and his regnal name was King George Skip Kastrioti (Skanderbeg II of the Albanians). He married Princess Leona Serier and together they had 2 children, Prince Morem George and Princess Alona.He reigned for 43 years until his death on 23 January 1955.
Upon the death of his father, King Morem George Skip Kastrioti (Skanderbeg III of the Albanians) ascended the throne. He reigned for 28 years until 1983 when he abdicated.
He had no children so according to the line of succession Princes Alona became the first Queen of the Albanians. Her regnal name was Queen Alona Skip Serier Kastrioti – Queen of the Albanians. She reigned for 8 years until 1991.
Upon her death her only son King Aldeon Skip Kastrioti (Skanderbeg IV of the Albanians) ascended the throne. He married Princess Selena Sonnes which later became Queen consort. He reigned for 23 years.
In a broadcast on national media on 18 January 2014 The New Albania’s King- *HRH Aldeon Skip Kastrioti (Skanderbeg IV of the Albanians), announced his intention to abdicate.
Sophie Skip Lonemar Kastrioti,the Crown Princess of Albania, Duchess of Zeleneria was the heiress apparent to the Albanian throne.
She officially took the throne on 21st of January 2014 on a national ceremony which was held on the Royal Palace of Tirana.Her regnal name is HRH*Sophie Skip Lonemar Kastrioti – Queen of the Albanians. She is married with Philip Alexander Morem Topia, and Prince Carl Morem Skip Topia Kastrioti, their only child, is the heir apparent to the Albanian throne.

Queen Sophie of the Albanians, Duchess of Zeleneria (Sophie Isabel Aulona Skip Lonemar Kastrioti) is the current head of the Albanian Royal Family and Queen of all Albanians.
She became Head of The House of Skip-Kastrioti, after her father, Aldeon Skip Kastrioti, Duke of Tirana, abdicated on 18 January 2014.She was born on 22 April 1977 at 19:35, in Tirana and is the oldest child of Aldeon Skip Kastrioti of Albania and Spanish-born Queen Mother Selena (née Sonnes). Upon her birth, she was first in line of succession to the Albanian throne.
She studied International Studies and Political Science in the University of Tirana. Her given names honour relatives. Her first name comes primarily from her great-great-grandmother. She is the president of the "Make a wish' association which helps homeless people and orphan children in the country. She is also a honorable member of the Academic of Science of Tirana, member of the State Council and the head of the High Council of Justice.
On 25 October 2005, the Royal Court announced her engagement with Philip Alexander Morem Topia, member of the Albanian Nobility(Topia's Noble Family) .
On 5 May 2007 she married Philip Alexander Morem Topia, on the St.Paul National Cathedral, on a ceremony which was a national holiday. More than 5,000 street parties were held throughout the country, and one million people lined the route between the Royal Palace and the Saint Paul's Cathedral.
On February 2009 the Royal Court announced that Princess Sophie was pregnant and on 10 August 2009 Prince Carl Morem Skip Topia Kastrioti was born. Prince Carl is the heir apparent to the Albanian throne.

Prince Philip
Prince Philip (Philip Alexander Morem Topia) is member of the Albanian Nobility (Topia's Noble Family). His official name is Prince Philip, Duke of Central Albania, Prince Consort of the Albanians. The prince was born on 11 November 1974 in Tirana and is the oldest nobleman of the Topia's Noble Family. He attended the military academy and served in the military for 5 years, as Air marshal of the Albanian Air Force. After an accident he retired and started working in the Ministry of Defence. He met Queen Sophie during a celebration in the Royal Palace, held during the national day of the kingdom. On 25 October 2005 they got engaged and on 5 May 2007 they got married. After the marriage he became Prince Consort of the New Albania, member of the Albanian Royal family, State Council, High Council of Justice and commander-in-chief of the Albanian Army. |
Prince Carl
Prince Carl Morem Skip Topia Kastrioti, Prince of Zeleneria and the Albanian Islands, was born on 10 August 2009. He is the heir apparent to the Albanian throne and the first in line of succession. He lives with his parents on the Royal Palace in Tirana. After reaching the age of majority at 18 he will have to attend at least 16 months of military education to keep his title. After that he will assume a seat in the State Council as his parents. |

He is second in line of succession followed by his daughter Princess Aulona Skip Kastrioti which is third in line of succession and his son Prince Lissean Skip Kastrioti which is fourth in line of succession.
Princess Amela is the wife of Prince Eduard and the mother of Princess Aulona and Prince Lissean. She is head of 11 charitable organizations and also advisory member of the State Council (she has no right to vote).
Other siblings include cousins from other noble families outside the kingdom.
